SIMBER

We hope this two-day workshop will serve both as an introduction for SIMBER’s Berkeley members to Oslo and ongoing projects at Simula, as well as an opportunity to work actively on the existing SIMBER projects. The first day will be held at Simula’s headquarters in downtown Oslo, and feature the tools and activities from the HPC (Simula) and Scalable Solvers (LBL) groups. The second day will be at the Scandic Holmenkollen hotel with a view of the city, and our goal there is to provide an opportunity for hands-on work with the existing joint projects. Meeting Program

Travel to and within Oslo: For this trip we recommend taking the airport train (Flytoget) from Gardermoen airport to Nationaltheatret. This service runs every 20 minutes, and the station is only a few minutes walk to both Simula and Thon Rosenkrantz hotel. Please see our main travel page for other travel options from Gardermoen or the other nearby airports that service Oslo, as well as options in Oslo.

Accommodation: Incoming travelers from California have rooms booked in downtown Oslo on May 24th at Thon Rosenkrantz Hotel. This is just two blocks from Simula where the meeting will be held on May 25th. Any luggage can be brought to Simula that morning and we will transport it from there. The following two evenings we have booked rooms for all attendees at Scandic Holmenkollen, where we will hold the second half of the meeting on May 26th. Kolonialen dinner May 25th: For those joining the dinner on May 25th, it will be hosted at Kolonialen Bislett from 6 – 8.30 p.m, which is a 10-minute walk from Simula. From there we have organized transport to Scandic Holmenkollen. Again please contact Andy or Nick if you need to make any changes in your dietary restrictions for the dinner.
